Indie (Rock)

The word "Indie" is used as short form to express that something is independent or independance.

 It can be refer to art, fashion, literature, films, music... Any type of "public" expression.

Talking about music; we diferrence prioritary two big groups: the Indie Pop and the Indie Rock. 

Focusing in Indie Rock... 

It´s an alternative genre of rock bornt in the UK in 1980s, after the 90s it was asociate with the punk labels and grunge; but in reality Indie includes any type of rock or pop which isn´t comercial. 

The indie started and still is ( almost in soul) in the lowest labels and followed with the DIY attitude: we can record our selfs, we can do our own music... 

Right now it´s again a topic culture, but now has a few changes... 

In music area we could found groups like: 

Artic Monkeys, The kooks, The neighborhood, Twenty one pilots, 

Of monster and men, Walk the moon, The Strokes, The killers,The Lumineers, Lorde, Birdy, Bastille, The 1975,Jake Bugg, James bay, Marina and the diamonds, Florence and the machine, Vampire weekend, Lana del rey, Never shout never, Grouplove...

                                                    

Some of them more known than others, like Twenty one pilots who appeared in lots of awards, Grouplove that wrote songs which now are in famous films. 

Personally i love most of the groups i mention, and the style too ( photos below) but as in the grunge, hardcore, pop... cultures there is a huge problem: the "false fans" those peoples who follow a culture, or try to imitated something without know what is it about. Maybe they don´t know about the music, or only buys the cd´s to take photos and apparent how cool they are.... We talk about people whose try to express their selfs through throughothers person´s way of seeing the world.

GRUNGE+ personal opinion

The therm “grunge” means dirt or filth.

               Literal meaning

  Basically the fashion world took the name of the age of the 90’ when this movement started with Nirvana, Pearl Jam and The Melvins. Those groups created the “grunge style music”. This music is a subgenre of alternative rock, and it is one of the most popular hard rock music. The lyrics use to trate about social alienation, apathy, confinement, and a desire for freedom.

When this happened the signature look was wearing flannels, band T-shirts, over-sized jackets, distressed jeans and Doc. Martens or Converse shoes. They used to wear long careless hair.

But the time put together everything and now all about this age is called grunge.

Right now grungy clothes are wore by a lot of people, and i feel sad.

 I feel sad because a big part of the people who wear band T-shirts of this  movement doesn´t even know or like the group that is on their T-shirts. (I am a person and I have an opinion, so sorry if you get upset because of what I think). I love a lot of this groups and I don´t like to see people wearing a Nirvana T-shirt just because they feel cool or something. Maybe I´m a person with a really closed mind, but a lot of my friends think of it as I do. You should wear something according to your personality, something that explains you. If you don´t think like me you are on your right, but that´s what I personally think. (Just finished here with my opinion, sorry for the outrage guys).

For those girls like me that prefer wear something more wearable than chocolate but as unique as it I recomend Guo Pei.

Guo Pei is a Chinese fashion designer.

This designer is known because of making dresses for the celebrities of China.

Her fashion shows are always full of people waiting to buy everything they see.

I think that Guo´s offer is the most beautiful and better quality clothes I have ever seen.

 She designed the dress worn by Song Zuying during her duet with Plácido Domingo at the 2008 Olympic Games. The dress took two weeks to create, with 200,000 Swarovski crystals hand sewn into the white gown.

But the main reason why people started looking at Guo´s work is because she designed Rihanna´s trailing yellow gown at 2015 Met Ball.

Chocolate Fashion Show

If you don´t have enough with the normal fashion weeks, if you need a little more of sweetness in your outfits...here is the perfect option! 

First it was in London the 15th of October and now you can find it in Paris till the 1st of November. 

We are talking about the Chocolate Fashion Show.  It is not just in France and England, but this two shows are the more populars. 

   

This show is a combination of the world most famous chocolatiers and fashion designers; and the result is a outfit of chocolate head to toes. 

There is not only about fashion, there will be conferences about recipes, cocoa and more activities. 

Also, this show is the perfect excuse to make a competition, who will said who is the best team and collection. 

             

But this is not just a fashion runaway, is a world convention celebrated since so many years ago.

Inside the Versailles Exhibition center, place choosen for this years convention in Paris, will be an 6 meter  high chocolate bear. 

So, if you want to see more chocolate together than you ever have seen, or just hang around looking for new authors, ideas or taste new flavours of chocolate; you already know where to go the next year.
